Exciting Environmental News – A Message from the PTA!

Signup for a cafeteria shift to help us kick off our new recycling program.  Starting September 16, we will be asking students to 1) compost all raw fruit and vegetable waste; 2) save for donation any unopened food containers (milk, yogurt, chips, granola bars, etc.); and 3) use mixed waste recycling (for example teaching them to spill out the remainder of their milk carton and put the carton in recycling).  Kids in the Environmental Club (flyers went home to 4th-6th graders yesterday) as well as Student Government members (elections to be held soon) will help educate students, but we need some parent volunteers for the first few weeks to help ensure the program has a strong kick off.  Lunch is from 11-1:30, so if you can spare even one day, it’s greatly appreciated.
