The Environmental Committee wishes the Freedom Hill community a happy Earth Day on April 22nd

The Environmental Committee wishes the Freedom Hill community a happy Earth Day on April 22nd. Please take time out to enjoy and appreciate this wonderful time of year in Northern Virginia. Furthermore, we encourage you to make an extra effort to take care of our world by reducing, reusing, recycling, and growing. Specifically, we urge you to reduce your consumption of fossil fuels by walking, riding a bike, and taking public transport instead of using a car; reduce your use of pesticides and fertilizers; purchase reusable products like cloth bags over plastic grocery bags; recycle whenever possible and purchase products made from recycled materials; compost your yard waste and kitchen scraps;  and,  grow local plants and trees to support local wildlife, to help reduce erosion, and to clean our air. If you love to garden consider helping out in our school garden at Freedom Hill. Again, the Freedom Hill Environmental Committee wishes you a happy Earth Day!
