4th Grade is…Electric!

Blog by Miss Petruzzellis, 4th grade:

Ms. Petruzzellis’ fourth graders learned about electricity today in science!  They used dry cell batteries, wires, and lightbulbs to make a series circuit and discovered that the lightbulbs don’t shine as brightly when you have two lightbulbs using the same power source as when you have a single lightbulb.  Lastly, they predicted what would happen if one lightbulb was removed from the circuit- would the other bulb stay lit?  We learned that they both go out because the path for electricity to flow through has been broken! We’ll make parallel circuits later in the week and discuss the important differences!
