On Thursday, December 1, 2016, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., the FCPS Parent Resource Center in conjunction with Career and Transition Services is sponsoring two workshops for parents.
- Community Services Board (CSB) and Medicaid Waiver Re-Design– Learn more about the waiver system, a long-term support system for individuals with developmental disabilities requiring long-term support needs. General overview information will be provided by representatives from the Fairfax County CSB on eligibility and postsecondary services. This presentation will be from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
- I’m Determined – Learn strategies to assist your son or daughter in developing self-determination skills including self-advocacy and goal setting. I’m Determined is about youth with disabilities taking control of their lives. This presentation will be offered twice from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
The workshops will be held at the Parent Resource Center which is located at 2334 Gallows Road, Dunn Loring, Virginia 22027, rooms 100 and 105.
