Veterans Day Assembly – A Memorable Day

For the first time in a long time FHES hosted a Veterans Day assembly on November 11th.  This was possible because of the commitment and hard work of staff members Louan Hassinger, Registrar, and Barbara Jackson, 2nd grade teacher.  We had many honored guests and our guest speaker was Mrs. Hassinger’s son,  Lieutenant Colonel Eric “Dempsey” Hassinger.  The Freedom Hill Singers, with Director Mrs. Lynch and Accompanist Mrs. Thomas, led us in several patriotic songs.  FHES parent and Commander, US Navy, Fred Cheng, recently returning from duty in Afghanistan, presented our school with a flag that was flown in our honor on September 11th, 2015.  Student Daisy Roberson read a moving letter to the audience.  Below are several videos and photos that capture this special occasion.  The first video is a compilation of the submissions provided by our staff and families (with sound) and the 2nd video highlights several students’ readings.  It was certainly a memorable day.  There are many attachments below, so be sure to keep scrolling!  Mr. Bloom’s Veterans Day Opening Remarks  Veterans Day Program
