Parent Literacy Night on Monday, December 14th, from 6-8pm!

Get ready to join the FHES staff and community for our 2015 Parent Literacy Night on Monday, December 14th, from 6-8pm!  This interactive event will allow parents to play and take games home to develop early literacy skills, receive cheat sheets on making your home an environment rich in 21st Century thinking, and learn how to deepen family conversations around literacy. Parents will even get to try a couple practice SOL questions to walk a few steps in their child’s shoes!  4th-6th grade parents can even take a sneak peek at our 2016 Battle of the Books books and see some engaging reading material for winter break!  Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to learn about some foundational concepts your students are learning in the classroom!

We need parent volunteers and 6-12th grade students looking for service hours to help cut and prepare games for stations and in early December before the event.  Please contact Mrs. Rossman, Reading Specialist, Melissa.Rossman@fcps.edu, if you or your 6-12th grade student would like to volunteer.
