Kentrell Martin, a new and notable author (reviews of his books can be found here: http://www.shellysadventuresllc.com/category_s/1857.htm) will be visiting kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade at FHES on Thursday, December 1st. He is the author of Shelly Goes to the Zoo (picture book), Shelly’s Outdoor Adventure (Picture book) and Kasey’s First Day of Basketball Practice (chapter book). Each of these titles incorporates American Sign Language (ASL) while telling an engaging story. During his talk he’ll share his experience as a writer and encourage the students to see themselves as writers too! He’ll read one of his books, teach students some signs in American Sign Language and even autograph copies of the books students have purchased. We love his message to students and are excited to see him ignite our students’ interest in writing, reading and American Sign Language!
